Honest answers about what we're building.

We are currently training and refining our model for Indian Sign Language (ISL), the primary signed language used by the Deaf community in India. ISL is where we're starting because it's where we can make the most immediate difference. Once we've gotten ISL right, we plan to expand to ASL, BSL, and as many other sign languages as we can reach.
We're in active beta development as of 2025. Early access is invite-only right now, we want to make sure the experience is genuinely useful before opening it up. You can sign up to join the waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as your spot is ready. We'd rather ship something that works than something that just looks good.
It works through your device's camera, no special hardware needed. Our model watches the hand movements and translates recognized signs into text in real time. We use computer vision to detect hand landmarks, then a neural network trained on ISL data to identify the gesture. Think of it like having a tireless interpreter available wherever you are, at any hour.
No, and we want to be honest about that. Human interpreters bring cultural nuance, emotional intelligence, and contextual understanding that no AI can fully replicate today. Necho is a supplement, a way to bridge the gap when a human interpreter isn't available or accessible. Our goal is to expand access, not replace the humans who have devoted their careers to this work.
